Never seen him play in his prime. But as an old guy, he was still dominant. Are you asking who’s the best PF? Idk, dirk is somewhere up there. That’s about it from me. Does Larry bird count? He’s more of a SF, imo. Honestly, not even being a Miami Heat homer, which I am, I’ll take a Chris Bosh on my team any day of the week. The man was just dominant on offense from anywhere on the floor. Look at his raptors highlights; man was possessed. And he’s the man as a person too, hilarious, and silly. His defense was good too, and he was fast (I think, not sure).
Again, I’m not familiar with prime Duncan.
Ps. Duncan couldn’t get fade-away buckets like CB1 edit: fadeaway post shimmey’s

I think we're all Mavs fans here, but don't quote me on that.
I view Tim Duncan the same way I view the Spurs and Gregg Popovich. I respect the hell out of him, because the dude dominated for twenty years and basically stayed out of controversy, but also fuck him. Lmao.
I think Dirk was far and away a better offensive player than Tim, but Tim was also far and away a better defender than Dirk was.
I'd say Duncan fits firmly in the top PF debate, I'd probably give him an edge over Dirk due to his skill on both ends of the floor and his championship pedigree.
Mavs homer opinion: 1. Duncan 2. Dirk 3. KG
Reasoning for Dirk at 2 over KG: Dirk was a literal ceiling-breaker for European players. The greatest European of all time, top 2 or 3 International players of all time. Is the poster child for stretch bigs, and even though KG played better defense, Dirk's fadeaway will go down in history in the same sentence as Kareem's Sky Hook, as one of the most dominant moves of all time.

I’m only 21 so I missed his prime years, but just looking at box scores from his early finals appearances the dudes a monster

He’s also a really good player but most likely not a top 15 big man when it’s all said and done.

My ranking would be 1. Tim 2. Dirk 3. Barkley 4. KG
I see dirk better than KG because he was able to be the man and lead a team. KG was a damn good player but In Minnesota he was just a player. Put up ridiculous numbers just to get rounded year after year. Then once he got to the Celtics, he was the third most important player on the roster. Dirk for his whole career was the rock in Dallas, multiple 50 plus win seasons a couple finals appearances and the last Legend to win a ship without having a super team.

I agree that Duncan is the top PF of all time. The tougher question is, where does he rank in big men history? Although I am a homer and anything is possssiiibbbbllleeeee. I have to put KG over Dirk in my PF rankings. 1. Duncan 2. KG 3. Dirk my Reasoning, KG was so much more dominant on the defensive and like you said, resulting in a DPOY. He was comparable to Duncan in All-defense teams and he was also a 4 time rebounding champ. Dirk was usually around a top 10 ppg guy while KG was around top 20. Honestly I don’t even think it’s close. As for 4th and 5th to round out my top 5, I would have to go by stats and check the likes of Elvin Hayes as well as Barkley.

Pierce is my boy but KG was the most important player on that championship team.
