They’ve made speed less important at CBs than it used to, but shit it still makes a huge difference idk i think it should be more important these days with teams pressing so far up the pitch and playing high lines. 15 years ago maguire would be the best cb in the world, but the game has changed, you need cbs who can cover more ground and get back when the ball over the top is played In the center of a back 3 like England in the World Cup would be ideal

Best impulse buy in years. I'd wait for the new one with better battery life tho... Thats my only complaint about my switch. Shit dies after like 3 hours.

Chelsea won a league playing it but that was out of necessity. Idk why England do it. Rose, Maguire, Stones, Walker is a solid back four. Stones is fast enough to clean up for Maguire when the speed is needed. Plus you can play winks or dier in front of them, get a body in midfield and have someone comfortable to drop back in to make it a 3 in emergencies.

It’s great with skilled wing backs They're more wingers than midfielders, and its needed because you would have no midfield if you played true wingers as well as a back 5. Only so many bodies. Its a defensive formation but it still leaves you incredibly open to counter attacks. Plus when you're against a good team that can pin you back deep, you've got no outlet down the wings. Only straight thru the middle, makes it easy to defend (unless you've got a world class bully striker like Diego costa and hybrid forward/wingers like hazard/pedro, which is why Chelsea won)

If you push the wing backs up to the midfield or attack to support either of those phases, the gaps in behind for counters are brutal and easily exploited. Gimme a nice structured 4-4-2 or 4-3-3

Those wing backs helped win the ball in midfield and press offensively

Rose-maguire-stones-walker Dele alli - henderson - barkley Sterling - kane - sancho If you wanted to go 4-4-2, drop sterling and sancho back to the 4, replace dele or Barkley with Rashford who goes up front.

I think they'd crush in either formation, especially once Hudson-odoi and Loftus-Cheek are back and once James Ward-Prowse becomes a mainstay.

That’s the back 4 they used except they added Trippier to make it a back 5
