Blake was already taken (R3/P23) this is being seen as a potential tamper. Blake griffin has expressed his firm commitment to the raptors.

The simpler the rule is the better. To qualify for RFA, a player has to meet the same criteria as before. If you want to bid on a RFA, you have to have a first rounder in your possession. New RFA system just means that if a team steals a RFA, the stealing team has to give up a first rounder to the player’s original team. If I steal a player I shouldn’t be penalized for it. What happens if I steal two players on the same day, then I could be fucked. I also don’t want to alienate people that don’t have futures. Some kind of RFA where you can camp up a project and have some assurance to try to keep them is enough for someone to want to keep their future picks imo. You can find decent picks mid way or even late. I remember swaggy p was taken like 22 or something in 2.0. Guy wouldve been a nice project. I think you should just allow a GM to see the offers given to their RFA eligible players before the sim days, so they know they can make the best offer to keep their player. This thing will not become an issue for another 5-6 seasons so we have time to figure it out, but I think that’s what should be done.

you missed the whole purpose of that. You want a dice roll, we want security Guaranteed security is the whole reason I'm against it, and favors people who tank in the draft. Besides the whole cap kill thing in FA day 1. The whole point of an "RFA" is that it promotes camping up mediocre players. You want to know what other people are offering then you should know if you made them your project. You as the home team have the chance to offer them better, so do it. Not down for 100% 10 year guarantee on a beast, that's wack. That's what happens in the real nba tho lol. Besides it's your choice whether to offer an rfa and potentially tie up your cap.

You aren’t penalized for stealing a player, you’re sign-and-trading for a RFA. Same way the Brogdon deal went this offseason.

You’re creating too much work for yourselves. The only way for it to work without fucking people over is what EA is saying about letting people know the offers.
1. If I sign someone who is an RFA, but they get stolen I lose that day of free agency because that cap was used on someone who is no longer on my team. M
2. Sign and trades happen because of cap. Losing a pick because a free agent signed with me while I had sufficient cap to sign them is a stupid punishment.
RFA is going to kill free agency because stars (who rarely switch teams) will not change teams at all, so we’ll all be fighting over role players.

can we propose max cotnracts of 4 years if you have bird rights and 3 years if we dont? If we’re going to decrease contract years, I would prefer we go to the NBA model of 4 years open market/5 years bird rights
