Hey let's discuss this idea of getting some sort of compensation when another team signs your RFA. I tried to call spencer to discuss this...my opinion was that the team stealing the player gives up a first rounder Like a tender ?

Alrighty he’s the idea...
The criteria for RFAs stay the same....if a player chooses to leave during FA while he is a RFA the team stealing that player must give up a 1st round draft pick in return. The pick has to be within three years, and the stealing team must have a pick in their possession to even offer the RFA a contract.

This is getting too complicated, I like the idea of RFA in theory but I think I’m out

The simpler the rule is the better.
To qualify for RFA, a player has to meet the same criteria as before.
If you want to bid on a RFA, you have to have a first rounder in your possession.
New RFA system just means that if a team steals a RFA, the stealing team has to give up a first rounder to the player’s original team.

How about... no RFA. I like the idea, but the purpose behind it is shit. Players leave. You’re also causing yourself more work. The less work you have to do the better. Trust me.

Just think it helps promote camping players by reimbursing half or a quarter of what they put into the player on top of getting the first round pick. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
